The Premier League is back, and all the excitement that comes with. It has been nearly 5 weeks since the top leagues had taken a mid-season break to accommodate the first ever winter World Cup, played in Qatar, in which Argentina emerged victorious. However the English Premier League, which is arguably the most popular club football competition across the globe, has returned on boxing day, after promising and serving some pulsating fixtures and results. There were no upsets to report, as it was all normal proceedings, except for the game between Brentford and Spurs which ended in a draw, but it could have been much worse for Antonio Conte's side, who had to, yet again, claw their way back from a losin position to earn a point. The most scintillating display however, belonged to the surprise table toppers, Arsenal FC, who continue to defy odds to extend their lead atop the Premier League table to 7 points. Arsenal steam rolled past fellow Londoners, West Ham United in a convincing 3-1 victory, after being pegged back early, through a Said Benrahma penalty in the first half. The North London club rallied back in the second half, scoring 3 goals in a captivating performance to further underline their title winning credentials. Various pundits and analysts alike are considering the unthinkable, tipping Arsenal to go all the way, while pipping clear title favourites Manchester city to the Premier League crown. But the question remains, do Arsenal have enough fire power to see them over the line? Over the next few months, it will all be revealed, as some are of the opinion that Arsenal could follow in the steps of Leicester city in their huge success in 2015 and win the Premier League.
