Biography of Seun Kuti: The Living legend

Seun Kuti as we all know, is the actually the youngest son of Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti. Who is a Nigerian and also an activist who made his music portray more of the downside of the government and the negativity they posses on the people of Nigeria.

Who is Seun Kuti?

He is ( Fela Kuti ) an icon to recon with. With this noted, Seun Kuti as we all know him decided to spent his whole  life making great strides doing more just as the way of his dad ( Fela Kut ) political & musical legacy.

Over the years it is noted that Seun and his brother Femi kuti who is another well known song writer just like their father has made alot of success in his field of music as well..

Background and early life

Seun Kuti was actually born in early 1983, its been a long time coming and he has been showing so much interest in his music career at a very tender or small age , its is unimaginable but he started from a little age starting from above age 3, and became more serious from when he clocked five

It was noted on his tales that at a very tender age of nine (9) years, he has already started opening Fela’s shows, & also singing as well. this happened consistently before his dad went to perform which he used the opportunity  to showcase his talent as well…

Over the time he did well in most organs usage as well from a tender age, he was able to do so much at a little age, exactly when he was getting close to twelve years. It was noted in history that his father ( Fela Kuti ) died not to long ago after this done by him. the date of his death was in 1997.

After his fathers death , he was able to carry on with his fathers blessings and wishes and as time went by, he carried along the Egypt 80.

Growing up as a young aspiring star, Seun Kuti was able to divide his time between the band and also most importantly his school. He also participated in African Football. Over the years as time went on he developed himself and at the age of 18 ( years ) , he decided to pursue music full-time with his whole heath into it.

History has it that at this time his shows was a mixture of his tunes and that of his father as well. It is also noted that he performed his recorded works on stage live just to stand out and prove his uniqueness.

Over time he developed on his act, and started developing more good tunes and incorporating various African traditions to reflect the continent’s struggles and cultures. That was also how is father carried out his kind of music as well.

It is also important to note that his debut recording, Seun Kuti & Fela’s Egypt 80, was basically issued by WM Recordings in 2008, How impressive of him and later in time he picked up for distribution by Mr. Bongo.

Over the years he was criticized by critics around Africa for still using the Egypt 80 Name, but still alot of people never felt bad about it and also accepted him.

Alot happened and over the years he made more achievements and that put him on the spot light and also he started touring much more even globally he was accepted he made much tours around Nigeria ( Lagos ), Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Philadelphia, London, Paris.

He has made remarkable achievements and till date his music still counts as one of the best from Africa.
